The Seal Rock Garden Club is based on the English Garden Club model. Founded in 1948, the club is a way for costal gardeners to share their knowledge, plants, and provide a social setting for individuals interested in gardening. The club is a nonprofit organization.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from September to June. The meetings begin at 11 a.m. with a business meeting which is followed by a educational presentation and an opportunity to socialize with the club members. The presentations consist of gardening topics relevant to coastal gardening and environmental issues that affect the coast and coastal native vegetation
Field trips to private and public gardens and nurseries with lectures by the local experts are offered as well as classes in flower arranging, garden art, pruning, plant propagation and soil management are just a few of the offerings.
